Privacy Policy — Sudoku Trails

Last updated: 29 September 2026

Sudoku Trails is a single-player sudoku game. It has no accounts of its own and no server of its own. This policy explains the only places data is involved.

What the game stores

Everything the game remembers — which levels you have finished, your stars and times, your theme, and your current board — is written to storage on your own device. Unless you use the optional cloud save described below, it is never sent anywhere. It is removed from your device when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

The game does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, files, or the contents of your device. It contains no crash reporting. The only analytics are the usage statistics described below.

Cloud save (optional)

If you are signed in to Google Play Games, the game keeps a copy of your progress in Play Games so it can follow you to another device or a reinstall. That copy contains your finished levels, stars and best times, your daily puzzle results, your Infinite Trail, and which techniques you have learned. Your settings and any board you are in the middle of stay on your device.

The copy is stored by Google on your behalf, linked to your Play Games profile, and is never sent to the developer. Sign-in is handled by Google Play Games; the game only receives your Play Games display name, which it shows in Settings. If you are not signed in, nothing is uploaded.

You can delete the copy, together with the rest of your Play Games data for this game, from the Google Play Games app or your Google Account. See Google’s privacy policy for how Google handles Play Games data.

Usage statistics

To know how many people play, the game uses Google Analytics for Firebase. It records only what Firebase measures on its own: that the app was installed and opened, how long a session lasted, and general device information such as the model, operating system version, app version and approximate country (derived from your IP address). The game sends no events of its own — nothing about the puzzles you play, your progress or your settings.

It never collects your advertising ID or Android ID, and the data is not used for advertising. It is identified only by a random ID created when the app is installed, which is reset if you clear the app’s data or reinstall it.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, nothing is collected unless you agree to it in the consent form shown the first time you open the game. Google processes this data on the developer’s behalf; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Advertising

The free version shows a single banner advertisement, served by Google AdMob. To fill that banner, Google receives information from your device, which may include your advertising ID, IP address, device model and operating system version, and whether the ad was seen or tapped. Google, not the developer, controls that data and uses it to select and measure ads.

How Google handles it is described in Google’s advertising privacy policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

You can limit this from your device at any time under Settings › Privacy › Ads, where Android lets you reset or delete your advertising ID. Deleting it stops personalised ads; the banner remains, but becomes non-personalised.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent form appears the first time you open the game, asking whether Google and its advertising partners may use your data for personalised ads. Your answer is stored on your device and can be changed later. No ad is requested until you have answered.

Removing ads

The game offers one optional purchase, which removes the banner. It unlocks nothing — every puzzle, world, theme and feature is available to everyone from the first launch, paid or not.

The purchase is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. Your payment details go to Google and are never seen by the app or the developer; the app only ever learns whether this product has been bought. See Google’s privacy policy for how Google handles payments.

Children

Sudoku Trails is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

The developer holds no personal data about you beyond the usage statistics above, which Google keeps on the developer’s behalf and which cannot be tied back to you by name. To reset them, clear the app’s data or reinstall it, which gives the app a new random ID. To remove what is on your device, clear the app’s data or uninstall it. For data held by Google as a result of advertising, a purchase, cloud save or usage statistics, use your Google Account controls.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s Play Store listing.
